Canada invited 3,000 Express Entry applicants to apply for residency

Express Entry is an online system used by the Government of Canada to administer permanent residence applications for skilled workers.

On August 19, Canada invited 3,000 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence.

The invited candidates had to be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), with scores of at least 403. This is one point lower than the previous CEC lottery score limit.

The Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and wish to become permanent residents.

Some of the eligibility criteria are:

  • Meet the required language level for your job.

  • Have at least 1 year of qualifying work experience in Canada within the last 3 years prior to applying.

Candidates who scored the minimum were only included if they had submitted their profiles by August 1, 2021 at 10:13:57 UTC, as per the tie-breaker rule. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) publishes this detail as an administrative requirement and does not mean there was an actual tie.
